Now where do you want to go?

Deciding on the perfect spot for photos can be stressful! I'm always open to shooting at new places but here are some places I've already been to give you some inspo.

Baton Rouge

downtown Baton Rouge

Downtown gives us a ton of different background options from rooftop parking garages to a field overlooking the Mississippi.

PROs: Free, Multiple background options
CONs: No restrooms (may have to change in the car).

within downtown baton rouge there is also the old state capitol and arsenal park. both are free to the public.

Burden Museum + Gardens

one of my favorite places in baton rouge. perfect for engagement photos, seniors, or family photos. there is a $75 photo fee and reservations must be made ahead of time.

PROs: Private, Multiple background options, clean.
CONs: closes at 5pm .

The gilmour

a perfect spot for indoor and outdoor photos. there is a $150 photo fee for regular sessions and $300 photo fee for bridal portraits. reservations must be made ahead of time and they do not take weekend reservations.

PROs: Private, indoor (weather is not an issue), changing room, clean.
CONs: The sun shines directly on the back of the building so depending on the time of day the outdoor lighting can be harsh and not ideal.

Hilltop arboretum

another favorite spot of mine. i love the quiet feeling of this place. it's a perfect spot for any session type. they close at 5pm but the grounds remain open until sunset. there is $45 photo fee for photos taken before 5pm.

PROs: quiet, fairly private, bathroom is available before 5pm.
CONs: the ground is mostly grass so if it HAS rained within the week it can potentially be muddy.

PROs: Multiple background options that vary from greenery to different architectures.
CONs: it's a college campus so there is no guarantee to specific spots, parking, or bathrooms.
